10 Go-to Pieces To Try This Summer
When summer hits it’s essential to have some go-to pieces in your wardrobe that you can throw on and not have to think about planning an outfit. It’s also nice to have these pieces for vacations, providing a travel capsule that can perform double duty for day and night. These pieces - added to some basics like a white tee or tank, jeans, swimsuit and flip flops – are the perfect travel capsule.
Maxi dress and/or beach cover up – I own this dress and it’s perfect. Flowey soft fabric that isn’t too thin to wear away from the pool.
Denim shirt – a great basic that can be used for chilly nights or could be worn over a swimsuit. Tie it around your waist if it’s too hot for a day out. Can double as a jacket, just knot it on the two tails or tie in front.
White jeans – casual or dressy, a white jean is always a summer staple.
Striped tank – worn under the denim shirt or alone, goes with both blue, white and colored jeans. A classic.
Kimono (Ruana) – these cover ups are popular this summer. Use as a swimsuit cover up or over a tank and jeans. You’ll reach for this all summer.
Jumpsuit - a jumpsuit is the easiest way to put together a polished look. A casual look with sandals, jean jacket and simple jewelry or dressed up with heels and a statement necklace or earrings. Depending on the top of the jumpsuit, you could even layer a tank, tee or blouse over it and it looks like an entirely different outfit.
Straw bag - the easiest way to transform your look to summer is adding a straw bag to your closet. Easy for travel, day out or at the beach or pool. If its big enough, it carries stuff for you and the kids.
Hat - a hat is a great way to save your face and hair from the sun, but also a pretty easy and great way to cover up your head if you had no time to wash or fix your hair!
Espadrille wedge sandals - a platform gives you height without the stress on your feet. Pick a nude or neutral color that makes legs look longer, and gives us height challenged girls the inches we wish we had!
Sunglasses - like the hat, save yourself from the sun and wear a great pair of sunglasses. You can splurge on designer glasses, or grab a great looking pair that doesn't break the bank and you won't cry over if you lose them. This pair has a designer look and quality and are under $15.
