October is done, the shopping has begun
So now that Halloween is behind me I find myself getting geared up for the holidays and gift giving - ok, shopping. I can’t believe it’s November already and Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away. Of course, Thanksgiving brings Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. And if you know me well or just a little, you know that one of my favorite things to do during the holidays (besides decorating!) is shop! Of course, I love shopping for me, which is pretty much shopping for our home so it’s not completely selfish. I love buying gifts for others because there’s nothing better than picking something out that you know the recipient will love and I can’t wait for them to open it!
I’ve also learned that nothing makes me feel better than supporting the small business owner. Being on Instagram for only a short time, I have met some wonderful new accounts and have indulged in buying their products for me or my home. I thought now would be a good time to highlight some of them in case you all see something you need for you or for holiday gifts. None of these accounts know that I’m doing this, so I hope you can show them some love and visit their Instagram and Etsy shops or websites.
Ok, here are some of my favorite shops! I’m going to introduce them to you by name, so you see them as a person and business owner, not just a shopping site.
Molly is a talented artist who makes adorable signs, prints and cards. Her Etsy shop is Heart and Handmade by M. Her Instagram account is @heartandhandmadebym - there you can see some of her fabulous works as well as get to know her. She’s a sweetheart and is so welcoming in this social media world! She made the cutest little easel stand I’ve had on my coffee table all fall. Go check out her instagram and her shop. You’re going to love her items.
Nicole of Vintage Brick House has an Etsy shop that is so fun to shop whether you’re looking for vintage items or for beautiful wreaths and garlands. I ordered two sweet little wreaths that I will love for years. Her Etsy shop is Vintage Brick House and her Instagram is @vintagebrickhouse. Her instastories often shows her creating these wreaths and garlands, and I’m so fascinated by her talent. I hope you will stop by Nicole’s shop soon, as her wreaths would be perfect for decorating during the holidays.
This next shop is new to me. When I saw Kari’s Instagram pic of a new offering, I knew I needed it for one of Nicole’s wreaths. When I had trouble deciding on a finish, she creatively figured out how to give me both! She has the cutest wood signs and items in her shop. She has an Etsy shop called Weathered Wood Grain Co by PrimD but you can also find her items on her website. Her instagram account is @weatheredwoodgrain. When I get my wreath hanger, I will show it to you! I can’t wait!
Erin at Me and Mama has you covered if you’re into cute little gnomes to decorate your home this Christmas. She even has them in an ornament size, and I saw she is taking orders for cute stockings! I bought two Christmas gnomes I can’t wait to get out. Visit her shop at her website but see all the pics on her Instagram at @me.and.mama. You’ll be seeing pics of my little guys a lot this coming season. I have a Hocus Pocus one that will be taking a break after a long October!
I’ve mentioned this next shop before and she helped me celebrate my 1,000 followers milestone with a candle giveaway. Holly at Attic Eleven candles is as sweet as they come, and her pretty little candles were a favorite of mine this fall. She has other beautiful year round scents, and I’m sure her winter scents will be amazing. Check out her Etsy shop AtticEleven and her Instagram at @atticeleven. Candles make an awesome gift, especially when the scents are as good as hers!
Last , but certainly not least, is Jen from The Rustic Ranch Co. Her shop carries a wide variety of home décor items, but my favorite are her wood trays. And bathtub trays, which are so cool and would be great to set your glass of wine on while you take a relaxing bath. (Although I’m sure it would be better to hold bath necessities, but still it’s a dream of mine to take a relaxing bath with a glass of wine and no interruptions!). She took a short break but is back in November so check out her shop and take a look. Her Instagram is @therusticranch and you can see all her pretty stuff and home pictures. She’s a mom of four, so go show her some love.
I hope you can check out these shops during your shopping season. I wanted to highlight these shops as I have personal experience with them and want them to have fantastic success. But there are so many shops that I didn’t mention but are so worthy of your business. Also, these are all online but there are local shops I adore as well. Make sure to give them your love as well. I know they all appreciate your support!
Happy November everyone and let the shopping begin!
